Awakening to the Body~A Weekend Meditation Intensive with John Churchill

In this weekend intensive for both experienced and beginning meditators we will turn our attention to the deep resources of our own bodies. Rather than struggling to control and discipline the mind you will learn to relax and open into the experience of resting the mind into embodiment. Just like the ancient yogis of China, Tibet and India we will experience the body as a profound and natural door into spiritual practice. The meditations you will practice work directly with body, energy, breath and awareness and are grounded in the Buddhist understanding of mind and reality. You will learn to:

  • discover the body as a source of sanctuary
  • process the stress and tension of our modern lives
  • calm thoughts
  • increase concentration and attention
  • open the heart
  • using the chakras and central channel to open into unconditional awareness
  • explore natural effortless meditation

Somatic meditations are unique. They help calm minds, open hearts, and reveal awareness, yet also heal the deep split between mind and body, the conscious and unconscious mind, and ‘ground’ back into the present moment.
