Yoga & Core Conditioning

At Samadhi we have classes in various styles of Yoga and Core Conditioning. Some classes emphasize more movement and rhythm, some focus on building strength and flexibility, others deep holding or alignment, and others reveal the flow of harmonizing movement or deep surrender. The teachers at Samadhi are highly trained and committed to offering you an authentic, safe practice within a curriculum that allows you variety and depth for years to come.

All Levels Yoga

A class open to all practitioners, from beginner to advanced.  All Levels Yoga is a perfect blend of mindful practice, breath, alignment, and sequencing.  This class begins with a short meditation and combines flowing postures and longer holds.  Beginner and advanced modifications are offered to create an “all levels” experience.

Anusara-Inspired Yoga - All Levels

In Anusara yoga we enthusiastically seek to develop and refine all parts of ourselves: body and mind, including our reasoning and intuitive capacities; and our emotions, including the deepest virtues of our heart.  The poses in Anusara yoga are considered to be “heart-oriented,” meaning that they are expressed from the “inside out.” Instead of trying to control the body and mind from the outside, the poses originate from a deep creative and devotional feeling inside. On our mat, we endeavor to always remember the spiritual purpose or highest intention of practicing hatha yoga, including reconnecting with our innate goodness and expressing ourselves from that divine place.

Flow Yoga

A sequential, flowing yoga.  This yoga develops strength, balance, flexibility and breath awareness. It increases concentration, decreases stress and brings the practitioner into a profound state of mind-body integration. The practice is suited for students who have experience with vinyasa styled yoga. This is a class which activates “tapas”; transformational heat in the body, burning away that which obscures being.

Fundamentals Yoga

A gentle Yoga class that is perfect for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. Fundamentals Yoga focuses on teaching proper alignment, integrated breathwork (pranayama), and the fundamentals of meditation through movement inherent to Yoga asana.  Students will be guided through a complete practice, including hands-on assistance, to help ensure a safe and fulfilling practice for all levels of practitioner.

Grateful to the Core

Based on the fundamentals of strength training and Pilates, “Grateful to the Core” is core work elevated to a mind/body practice.  This physically challenging class shapes the abdominals, hips, glutes, shoulders, and thighs, while bringing the student into a state of focused awareness through emphasis on alignment, breath, and strength building.  This has a calming effect on the mind and provides amazing, body-changing results.  Students will use a mat, ring, resistance band, (all provided) and the body’s own weight to achieve a more defined and toned body.  While there are some similarities to Pilates with cueing and movement integration; this is not a Pilates class.  Beginner and Advanced modifications are offered throughout the class to provide an all levels experience.

Pilates Mat

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance, and coordination in the legs, abdominals, arms, and back.  The Pilates Mat class emphasizes the concepts of core strength, stabilization, and the proper use of breath to bring balance and fluid movement to the body.  You will use a resistance ring and bands (provided) to mimic the work done on traditional Pilates equipment for a sculpted, toned physique.  All levels welcome!

Svaroopa® Yoga Series

A non – flowing yoga, using precise alignments and carefully selected poses, along with meticulous placements of props, to open up the deepest tensions of your body. This also opens up conscious access to the ever expanding inner realms of being. This series is open to those students who have attended at least 10 Svaroopa classes.
